William T. Jones, 2nd husband of Mary Susan Bass who was Burdin Holland's 3rd wife.  Burdin Holland was the son of Absalom Holland and Nancy Hales.

I, William T. Jones, of aforesaid County and state, being of sound mind, but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence, do make and declare this my last will and testament:

          First, my executorix (sic), hereinafter named, shall give my body a decent burial, suitable to the wished of my friends and relatives, and pay all funeral expenses, together with all my just debts, out of the first moneys which may come into her hands belonging to my estate.

          Second, I give and devise to my beloved wife, Mary Susan Jones, the tract of land on which I now reside, with the exception of twenty-five acres given to my son Lonnie, as devised in a later item of this my will, upon her natural life, in satisfaction of her dower and third in all my lands.

          Third, I give and devise to my son Lonnie, and his heirs, in fee simple, a tract of land in Indian Springs Township, Wayne County, bounded as follows: being a part of the land on which I now reside. Containing twenty-five acres, beginning at Seven Springs and Kinston road at a stake on Issac [sic] Jonesí corner and running west with said Issac Jonesí land to Cox Branch and then down said branch far enough that the aforesaid Lonnie Jones will have twenty-five acres lying immediately beside of and parallel to the land of the above mentioned Isaac Jones.

          Fourth, I give and bequeath to my said beloved wife all the household and kitchen furniture, and all the personal property that I now possess, or may possess at the time of my death.

          Fifth, I give and bequeath to my daughter Lizzie, the wife of John Jones, the sum of one dollar to be paid by my executorix out of the money belonging to my estate within two years after the date of my death.

          Sixth, I give and bequeath to my daughter Catherine Jones Bass, the wife of Andrew Bass, the sum of one dollar to be paid by my executorix out of the moneys belonging to my estate within two years after the date of my death.

          Seventh, I will and bequeath to my grandson Charles Wesley Jones (son of Charles Jones, now dead) one dollar to be paid by my executorix out of the money belonging to my estate within two years after the date of my death.

          Eighth, I will and bequeath to my son Isaac Jones one dollar to be paid by my executorix out of the money belonging to my estate within two years after the date of my death.

          Ninth, I give and devise to my youngest son, William Simon, the tract of land on which I now live, subject to the life estate of my said wife, as devised in a former item of this my will, to have and to hold to him and his heirs in fee simple.

          Tenth, my will and desire is that at the death of my wife Mary Susan, all my household and kitchen furnature and personnel property shall go to my youngest son, William Simon, after the collecting and payment [illegible].

          Eleventh, I hereby constitute and appoint my wife Mary Susan Jones, my lawful executorix to all intents and purposes, to execute this my last will and testament, according to the true intent and meaning of the same, and every part and clause thereof, hereby revolking and declaring utterly void all other wills and testaments by me heretofore made.

          In witness whereof, I, the said William T. Jones, do hereto set my hand and seal, this 12 day of March, 1919.

          Signed, sealed and published and declared by the said William T. Jones to be his last will and testament in the presence of us, who, at his request and in his presence (and in the presence of each other) do subscribe our names as witnesses thereto.
