Woodard's Branch

The Woodard D. Holland, C.S.A., home in Wayne County, North Carolina

This was Woodard Holland and Rhoda's home in Wayne County, North Carolina that they sold to the Waddell family when they moved to Georgia sometime before 1900.  It is the Waddell family that is in the picture, not the Woodard D. Holland family.  

Woodard D. Holland and Rhoda's seven children were born in North Carolina, probably in this house.  They were 

Ophelia Holland, born 1859
Erastus Foster Holland, born 1861
Margaret Tatey Holland, born 1862
Addie Cornelia Holland, born 1864
Eli C. Holland (called Jack), born 1866
Woodard D. Holland  (called Nathan), born 1868
and
James Francis Holland, born 1870

This picture of the same home was taken in December 2001 by Daren Niven.  It has remained in the Waddell family since they purchased it from Woodard D. Holland in the late 1800's.
