Warren's line is followed on this page. He was Elisha Holland's 9th child, and his first child with his second wife, Patience Peacock.

9. Warren Hollandwas born in 1807, died in 1864. He married Winifred (Winnie) Skipper who was born 1810. His will is filed in the county clerk's office in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Warren and Winny Holland were included in the 1860 census in Wayne County, North Carolina, along with five children who were living at home at the time. His oldest child, Uriah, had evidently already established his own home because his name was not included. Uriah would have been about 29 years old in 1860.

1. Uriah Holland, C. S. A., was born 9 July 1831. He married Patience Katherine Holland on 23 March 1857. She was born 7 March 1837 in North Carolina. Patience was Uriah's first cousin, being the daughter of his father's brother, Woodard D. and Celia Holland. See Notes section of this web site for further information on this relationship. The marriage took place at Celia Holland's home.

Uriah is listed in the 1860 census along with Patience and their first three children. He served in the Confederate Army during the War Between the States. Information about his war service may be found in the Public Records section of this web site.

Uriah Holland died 18 October 1901 and Patience Katherine Holland died 26 January 1910. They are buried beside each other in the Mercer Cemetery in Spring Hill Township in Wilson County, North Carolina.²⁷

2. Willis Marion Holland was born March 22, 1857, and died 29 March 1922. He married Martha Crumpler who was born 13 Mar 1857 and died 17 December 1920. This family lived a few miles south of Lucama, North Carolina in Wilson County. They were farmers and active members of Little Rock Free Will Baptist Church. Willis was a deacon, according to church records. There is a picture of Willis Marion Holland in the Family Album section of this web site. ³⁷

4. Albert Marion Holland was born 22 March 1895, and died 26 May 1955. He married Cassie Lee Sullivan who was born 17 October 1898 and died 23 June 1962. They lived on a farm inherited from his father and were members of Little Rock Church.

4. Annie Lee Holland was born est. 1924. She married a Barnes.

6. Doris Marie Holland was born est. 1928. She married a Godwin.

7. Willis Rayfus Holland was born 6 June 1930. He married Lois Frances Barnes on 2 June 1930. Willis was an Army Medic in Japan during the Korean conflict. His family lived in Lucama, Wilson County, North Carolina, where Willis had a barber shop and they were members of Little Rock Free Will Baptist Church.

1. Wilma Holland was born 5 November 1957, died 6 November 1957.

2. Alice Frances Holland was born 7 October 1959. Alice is a registered nurse.

3. Steven Rayfus Holland was born 10 October 1965; lived only a few hours.

8. Betty Faye Holland was born 10 January 1934. She married Selby Dixon Raper who was born 2 October 1930, the son of Octavia Dixon and Herman Raper. Octavia Dixon is daughter of Sally Holland and William Joseph Dixon. Betty Faye Holland and Selby Dixon Raper are third cousins, once removed. 1. Cassie Raper was born 9 April 1964. She married Phillip Whitley. Phillip was born 5 February 1964.

5. Bertie Holland was born 23 January 1898 in Wilson County, North Carolina. She married Lloyd Mayberry Barnes 23 May 1913. He was the son of John A. Barnes and Annie Piety Godwin and was born 13 November 1891 in Wayne County, North Carolina. Bertie and Lloyd resided in Johnston County on a farm given to them by Lloyd's father at the time of their marriage. Lloyd died 15 March 1942 during World War II. Bertie died 27 September 1983 in Smithfield, North Carolina. There is a picture of Bertie Holland in the Family Album section of this web site.³²

1. Rudolph Barnes was born 18 December 1917. He died May 1981. Rudolph Barnes married Clara Starling. Clara died 19 April 1994.

2. James Elmer Barnes was born 18 August 1919. He died 25 March 1990. James Barnes married Edith Johnson.

3. Harold Barnes was born 20 February 1921. He died February 1985. Harold Barnes married Estelle Johnson.

4. Walter Carlton Barnes was born 1 June 1923 in Wayne County, North Carolina. He married Dorothy Clyde Brown 25 July 1944. Dorothy was born in 1928 in Johnston County, North Carolina. Walter died 6 June 1992.

1. Jimmy Lloyd Barnes was born 26 December 1945 in Johnston County, North Carolina.

2. Susan Diane Barnes was born 6 December 1948 in Virginia. She married 1st, in 1965, Danny E. Daughtry who was born 14 February 1946 in North Carolina. Susan married 2nd William E. Smith in 1974. William was born 31 August 1953 in Johnston County, North Carolina.

1. Tammara Denise Daughtry was born 3 May 1966, in Fort Meade, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. She married 1st, David Rosenberg in 1984; divorced. Tammara married 2nd, James Short in 1990; divorced. Tammara married 3rd, Fred Jewel Tyson, III, on 7 April 2007. He was born 3 February 1963, in Aurora, Colorado, the son of Fred Jewel Tyson, Jr. and Gwendolyn Gladys Washburn.¹⁵⁷

2. Joseph Holland, C. S. A., was born in 1840. He enlisted on in the Confederate States of America Army on 10 June 1861 at Wayne County, NC as a Private. There is further information on Joseph Holland's Civil War service in the Public Records section of this web site.

4. Alonza ("Lonnie") Holland was born 27 May 1870 and died 7 May 1936; he was buried in the Mitchell/Sasser Family Cemetery in Wayne County, North Carolina. He married Bessie Overman on 12 December 1900 in Wayne County, North Carolina. Bessie Overman was born 12 November 1883, the daughter of Ephriam Overman and Eliza V. Davis. She died 5 March 1974 and was buried in the Mitchell/Sasser Family Cemetery in Wayne County, North Carolina ¹⁶.

1. Cecil Alonza Holland was born 15 January 1919.

5. Willie Holland was born about 1875. He married Roxie Lamm 12 February 1895, at the age of 19; she was 16. Roxie was the daughter of Abram and Missouri Lamb (note spelling difference on her last name; to be resolved).

Buck Ward's mother Patsey Holland, and Zilpha Langley's mother Nancy Holland were first cousins. Patsey Holland's father Warren Holland, and Nancy Holland's father Absalom Holland were half brothers, both sons of Elisha Holland.²

3. Winnie Holland was born 29 November 1879. She died 27 March 1937 at age 57 years, 3 months, 26 days. Winnie was married in Wilson County, North Carolina, to Simon Barnes. He was born 21 September 1861, and died 18 August 1929. They are both buried in Barnes Cemetery.

Rittie Holland was born 4 September 1884, died April 1931; married James Algrum Peele, born 27 September 1879 in Wilson County, North Carolina and died 11 June 1964.¹⁴ Algrum Peele is the son of Stephen Peele (born 28 September 1846 in Nash County, North Carolina; and died 27 September 1920 Wilson County, North Carolina) and Anna Fulghum (born 2 October 1853 in Nash County, North Carolina; married 27 September 1874; died 30 June 1921 Wilson County, North Carolina). He is the grandson of Josse Peele (born 7 January 1813 in Johnston County, North Carolina and died 25 March 1869 in Wilson County, North Carolina) and Martha Barnes (b. 1816 in Nash County, North Carolina; married 5 March 1839 in Wilson County, North Carolina; died 15 May 1883 in Wilson County, North Carolina

Ora married 2nd Herman Perkins on 10 July 1966 at First Christian Church, Charlotte, North Carolina.

4. Thurman Carnell Peele was born 25 January 1913 near Micro, Johnston County, North Carolina. He married Annie Lou Ellie. They did not have descendents.

5. Alma Addie Peele was born 13 July 1914 near Micro, Johnston County, North Carolina. She died 2 November 1918 near Micro of influenza.

6. James Avery Peele was born 29 December 1916 near Micro, Johnston County, North Carolina. He died 23 June 1983, in Luray, Virginia. He married Audrey [last-name-unknown] around 1936-1940.

1. Carlos Sue Peele was born about 1941.

7. Alletha Peele was born 31 January 1919 near Micro, Johnston County, North Carolina. She married Gerald Marion Shuff on 2 March 1941. They lived and died in Elberta, Alabama.

9. Everette Edward ("Ed") Peele was born 9 February 1924 near Micro, Johnston County, North Carolina. He died 28 October 1997 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He married 1st Blanch Sullivan. They did not have children. He married 2nd Rose [last-name-unknown].
