This page is a sub-section of Absalom Holland and his wife Nancy Hales.   It shows the descendants of their sixth child, William W. Holland and his wife Roena Deans. 

Absalom's children:

6. William W. Holland (identical twin to Richard) was born 29 November 1842.  He died 4 July 1899, and was buried in the  Simon Holland Cemetery in Wayne County, North Carolina.  He married Roena Deans 15 August 1867, in Wayne County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of Thomas A. Deans and his wife Patience. ⁶³  His will was filed in Johnston County, North Carolina, in 1899; it named 6 of his children:  sons Milford age 20, Rufus age 8, daughters Ellen age 19, Lina age 16, Bessie age 14, and Daisie age 4.  George F. Woodard was named guardian and executor.

1.  Absalom B. Holland (called Bee) was born 15 September 1873, probably in Wayne County, North Carolina.  He married Ella Outland at Snow Hill, North Carolina.  She was born 8 May 1881.  He died 1 December 1939, and was buried in the Simon Holland Cemetery, near Pinkney, Wayne County, North Carolina.  There is a picture of his grave in the Album section of this web site.

1. Nola Holland was born 1 April 1898.  She was married on 5 March 1919 to Connor Fanelty.  He was born 10 August 1895.

2. Lola Alice Holland was born 14 September 1900.   She was married on 23 August 1921 to Paul Renninger.  

3. Eleanor (Tiny) Holland was born 21 September 1902.  She married Dewey Mina.

2. Eleanor Mina was born 18 July 1925.

4. Lois Frances Holland was born 12 October 1904.  She married John Miller.

5. Bettie Holland was born 10 May 1907.  She married J. E. Mish.

6. Bessie Lee Holland was born 9 November 1910.  She was married in Winston Salem, North Carolina, to John Booker.

7. Jessie Mell Holland was born 21 May 1913.  She married Lloyd Keller.

8. Absalom B. Holland, Jr. was born July 21, 1915. 

9. James William Holland was born 1 April 1919.  He married Pat Beasol and moved to Winston Salem, North Carolina.
Children of James William Holland and Pat Beasol:

1.  James William Holland, Jr. was born in October 1945.  He was raised into Kenly, North Carolina Lodge No. 257, A. F. & A. M. on 2 November 1965. 

10. Paul Dewey Holland was born 1 July 1921.  He married Margret Brown.  He was raised into Kenly, North Carolina Lodge No. 257, A. F. & A. M. on 2 November 1965.

Note:  There is also a Paul Dewey Holland, b. 1903, who is son of Patrick Dowd Holland so I am not 100% certain about these two.

2.  Anderson Holland was born est. 1875; he married Laney Watson.  

3.  William Manley Holland was born 5 January 1877.  He was married 6 October 1901 to Lula Hooks who was born 5 February 1881.  They lived in Fremont and Kenly, North Carolina.  The information on Manley Holland was provided to Nellie Holland Russell by Mrs. Robert Waddell of Kenly, North Carolina.

1.  William Norman Holland was born 10 November 1902.  He married Florence Morris on 31 October 1925.  She died in August 1927.  William Norman Holland married 2nd Estelle Rackley.

2.  Joseph Elmer Holland was born 2 July 1904.  He was married in November 1924 to Victoria Atkinson. 

3.  Aaron H. B. Holland was born 10 April 1906.  He married Gladys Cuddington on 1 November 1925. 

4.  May Blossom Holland was born 20 June 1908.   She married Herbert Cuddington on 16 December 1925.

5.  Roe Rene Holland was born 11 October 1910.  She married Robert Waddell.  

6.  Pauline Holland was born 9 January 1913.  She died 6 March 1929, and was buried in the Simon Holland Cemetery near Pinkney, North Carolina.  

7.  Donald H. Holland was born 11 April 1915.  He died 9 October 1948.  He married Jeanette Kendrick of San Antonio, Texas.  

8.  William Henry Holland was born 30 March 1917.  He was married 10 September 1938 to Frances Wiley.

9.  Carry Louise Holland was born 31 August 1919.  She was married Alfred Peacock on 6 October 1935. 

10.  Mary Lee Holland was born 10 June 1922.  She married Elmer Taylor on 11 June 1938. 

11.  Nancy Virginia Holland was born 17 September 1925.  She was married 20 July 1941 to Grover Smith. 

4.  Milford Jarvis Holland was born 13 October 1878.  He died 28 September 1920, and was buried in the Simon Holland Cemetery in Wayne County, North Carolina.  He married Appie Gurley, born 27 September 1879, died 5 May 1925, buried in the Simon Holland Cemetery.

1.  Forrest Holland was born est. 1902. 

2.  Leland Holland was born est. 1905.

3.  William Herman Holland was born est. 1908, probably in North Carolina.  He married Mamie Fames Barnes.¹³⁴

1.  Ralph Edward Holland was born 21 August 1928, in Wayne County, North Carolina.  He married Ruby Muriel Head.  She was born 3 June 1928.  In February 2008, Ralph Holland lived in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

1.  William Edward Holland was born 19 June 1947.
Children of William Edward Holland:

1.  Angela Holland was born 1 October 1972.  She married a Janecka.

2.  Willard Eugene Holland was born 22 June 1948.

3.  Ralph Dennis Holland was born 10 June 1950.  He married Alma Fay Bass, born 13 October 1951. 
Children of Dennis Holland and Alma Bass:

1.  Ralph Dennis Holland, Jr. was born 7 August 1974.

2.  April Renee Holland was born 15 August 1977.  She married a Drake.

3.  Crystal Noel Holland was born 6 December 1979.

4.  Alecia Jean Holland was born 6 October 1951.  She married a Stone.

2.  Eula Lee Holland was born, probably in North Carolina, 9 June 1930.  She married John Brantley Barnes.  He died before February 2008.  Eula died 21 February 2008, at Wilson Medical Center, Wilson, North Carolina.  She was buried at Evergreen Memorial Park in Wilson, with graveside service conducted by her brother, Father James Lassiter Holland.  Her obituary is in the Public Records section of this web site.

1.  Kay Barnes was born, probably in North Carolina.  She married Alan Boykin.

2.  Wayne Barnes was born, probably in North Carolina.  He married Kay [last-name-unknown]; they live in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

3.  Jimmy Barnes was born, probably in North Carolina.  He married Elaine [last-name-unknown]; they live in Wilson, North Carolina.

4.  Gary Barnes was born, probably in North Carolina.  He married Edie [last-name-unknown]; they live in Elm City, North Carolina.

5.  William Barnes was born, probably in North Carolina.  He married Teresa [last-name-unknown]; they live in Wilson, North Carolina. 

6.  Timothy Barnes was born, probably in North Carolina.  He married Lori [last-name-unknown]; they live in Bowersville, Hart County, Georgia.

3.  William Jarvis Holland was born, probably in North Carolina, est. 1932.  He married Mary Wrenn and they lived in Lucama, North Carolina.  He died 9 January 2006, in Wilson, North Carolina.  His obituary is in the Public Records - Obituaries section of this website.

1.  Richard Lee Holland was born 13 Nov 1954, probably in Wilson County, North Carolina.  He lived in Lucama, Wilson County, North Carolina, and died 15 December 2009 at age 55.  His obituary is in the Public Records - Obituaries section of this website. 

2.  Robert Holland was born about 1956, probably in Wilson County, North Carolina.

3.  William Holland was born about 1959, probably in Wilson County, North Carolina.

4.  Ella Bee Holland was born, probably in North Carolina, est. 1934.  She married a Davis and a Barnes.  She was living in Goldsboro in February 2008.

5.  Dorothy Jean Holland was born, probably in North Carolina, est. 1936.  She married a Marlow.  She died before February 2008.

6.  James Lassiter Holland was born, probably in North Carolina, est. 1939.  He lives in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. 

7.  Milford Ray Holland was born, probably in North Carolina, est. 1942.  In February 2008, he lived in Wilson, North Carolina. 

8.  Mamie Frieda Holland was born, probably in North Carolina, est. 1945.  She married a Talton.  She lived in Pikeville in February 2008. 

4.  Fannie Holland was born est. 1910.  She married a Garris.

5.  Willard Zeadock Holland was born in 1913.  He died in 1999.

6.  Hazel Holland was born est. 1914.

5.  Ellen (Ellie) Holland was born 9 May 1880.  She was married in 1907 to Harvey Watson.  They lived in Kenly, North Carolina.

1.  Doris Watson

6.  Lina Holland was born in 1883.  She married Isaac Boyett. 

7.  Elizabeth (Bessie) Holland was born est. 1885.  She married Govna Gordon Browder.  Bessie Holland died in 1923 in Goldsboro, North Carolina giving birth to twin when she was 34.

8.  Rufus Holland was born in 1891.  He married Etta Farrett.

1.  William Jarvis Holland was born 8 September 1915.  He died 16 June 1916, and was buried in the Simon Holland Cemetery in Wayne County, North Carolina.

9.  Daisy Holland was born in 1895.  She married Clemon Barnes.
