Patrick Dowd Holland is son of Exum Holland, and grandson of Elisha Holland by his second wife Patience Peacock. This page is a sub-section of Exum Holland and his 2nd wife Martha Parks.  It shows the descendants of their 1st child (Exum's 9th child), Patrick Dowd Holland and his wife Lou Pender.

 9. Patrick Dowd Holland was born 8 June 1857.  He died 26 November 1914 and was buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery in Micro, Johnston County, North Carolina.  Patrick married Lougenia Pender who was born 15 November 1859.  She died 6  June 1926 and was buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery.⁴⁹

1.  Robert Hatcher Holland was born 27 September 1883.  He Died 17 August 1946 and was buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery in Johnston County, North Carolina.  He married Dicena Edgerton.  She was born 6 October 1885 and died 15 March 1959.  She was buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery next to her husband. Pictures of their graves are in the Album section of this web site.

1.  Newton Elwood Holland was born around 1908.  He died and was buried in the Washington, DC area.  He married Florence Johnson.


2.  Rosalie Holland was born around 1910.  She married James Richard Thompson.

1.  James Robert Thompson was born around 1942.  He lived in Micro, Johnston County, North Carolina until his death around 1995.  

2.  Freddie Linwood Thompson was born around 1944.

3.  Betty Kay Thompson was born around 1946.  She married a Cross. 

4.  George Douglas Thompson was born in 1951.

3.  Hubert Coleman Holland was born around 1915.  He died and was buried in Kinston, North Carolina.  Coleman married Jane Woodard.

1.  Shari Jan Holland was born around 1945.

2.  Lori Coleman Holland was born around 1948.

4.  Clarabel Holland was born 30 July 1922.  She did not marry.   Clarabel died 21 December 2000 in Micro, Johnston County, North Carolina.  She was buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery there.  There is a picture of her grave in the Album section of this web site.

2.  Exum Wade Holland was born 8 September 1887 in Fair Bluff, North Carolina.  He married Dessie Pearl Britt in Fair Bluff, North Carolina.  She was born 20 April 1891 and died 25 February 1951 in Fair Bluff, North Carolina.  He died 5 February 1935.  Exum Wade Holland and his wife Dessie are buried together in the Patrick Holland Cemetery in Johnston County, North Carolina.  A picture of their gravestone is in the Album section of this web site.

1.  Worth Underwood Holland was born 7 October 1911.  He married Ellen Peele.  He died 25 November 1967 and was buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery on Oak Grove Inn Road in Micro, Johnston County, North Carolina.  There is a picture of his gravestone in the Album section of this web site.

4.  Beatrice Britt Holland was born 8 March 1916.  She married Kelly Hayes.  Beatrice died 10 February 1983 at age 66.  She was buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery on Oak Grove Inn Road in Micro, Johnston County, North Carolina.  There is a picture of her grave in the Album section of this web site.

5.  Vera Holland was born about 1918.  She married Ralph Lee Stewart.

3.  Millard Pratt (called Bill) Holland was born 10 (or 8th) June 1889 and died 23 December 1952.  He married Alice Barnes.  They did not have children.  Millard is buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery in Johnston County, North Carolina.  A picture of his grave is in the Album section of this web site. 

4.  George Oscar (called Sam) Holland was born 9 June 1891.  He died 26 August 1956 and was buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery in Johnston County, North Carolina.  He served in the Infantry as a sergeant in World War I.   He married Edna Godwin who was born 17 June 1902 and died 18 September 1961.  She is also buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery.  Pictures of their graves may be found in the Album section of this web site.

1.  Clara Marie Holland was born in 1924.   She married James Wesley Carleson on 10 February 1945.  He was born 4 November 1922 and died 10 September 1985.

1.  James Brule Carleson was born 18 July 1950 and died 7 August 1993 at age 43.  He was buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery in Johnston County, North Carolina.  There is a picture of his gravestone in the Album section of this web site.

2.  Mattie Cleo Holland was born 3 September 1927, likely in Johnston County, North Carolina.  She married Joe Ruffin Wall 17 November 1945.  He was born 4 January 1923.  Cleo Holland died 25 January 1993 and was buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery in Johnston County, North Carolina.  A picture of her grave is in the Album section of this web site.

7.  Carl Craig Holland was born in 1946.  He married Elisabeth Novak in Tacoma, Washington, on 17 November 1967.  She was born in Germany in  1948.  Her parents, Richard Novak and his wife Margarete, moved to St. Louis in the late 1950's. Carl and Elizabeth were both in the U.S. Air Force, he served in Viet Nam.  Elizabeth died 15 November 1995, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, at age 47.  She was buried in the Patrick Holland cemetery in Johnston County, North Carolina.  After her death, Carl married Mary Ann Via, who was born in 1950, in Huntington, West Virginia; she was previously married to a Blackmore. Carl and Mary Ann were married 20 September 1997.¹¹⁴

1.  Dustin Craig Holland was born [private] in St. Louis, Missouri.  He served in the U. S. Marine Corps.  He married 1st, Lorraine Carol Mosley in Rocky Mount, Nash County, North Carolina, on 2 November 1990.  They divorced in 1998.  Dustin married 2nd, Kamden Edwards in Rocky Mount, Nash County, North Carolina, on 30 December 2000.  She was born [private].

2.  Nichole Elise Holland was born in 1976. She married Jeffrey Scott Anderson in La Grange, Nash County, North Carolina, on 16 October 2004.  Jeffrey was born in 1976 in La Grange, Lenoir County, North Carolina, son of J. P. Anderson, Jr. and Gloria Killette. 

5.  Patrick Herman Holland was born 14 February 1894.  He died 11 March 1950 and was buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery in Johnston County, North Carolina.  He married Kate D. Cockrell who was born 28 June 1896 and died 31 August 1980.  She is buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery next to her husband.  Pictures of their graves are in the Album section of this web site.

1.  Nelson Millard Holland was born 6 November 1916, probably in North Carolina.  He married Gurtha Ballance who was born 3 May 1924.  She died 27 September 1997 at the age of 73.  Nelson Holland died 22 May 1967 at age 50.  They are buried together in the Patrick Holland Cemetery, Micro, Johnston County, North Carolina.  .

1.  Larry Nelson Holland was born around 1956.  He married Annette Bizzell.

2.  James Franklin Holland was born 15 January 1919.  He died 12 May 1984, and was buried at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Newington, Screven County, Georgia.  He married Mildred Lovett and they lived in Screven County, Georgia.  The information on his descendents was provided by April Holland Stone.⁵⁶

2.  Herbert Donald Holland was born 7 September 1951, in Halcyondale, Screven County, Georgia.  He married first, Janice Perryman.  He married second, Becky Freeman, on 18 August 2000, in Little Ogeechee Baptist Church in Oliver, Screven County, Georgia.  Becky was born 24 September 1966.¹⁴¹

4.  Kathryn Jean Stone was born 15 July 2002 in Savannah, Georgia.  She was named after her great-great-grandmother, Kate D. Cockrell Holland, wife of Patrick Herman Holland.

2.  Patrick Alan Holland was born 10 May 1981, and is from Guyton, Georgia.  As of this writing in 2005, Alan has been serving in the U. S. Army since 2001.  There is a description of his military service in the Public Records section of this web site.  He married Jamie Marie Regh on 10 January 2003.

1.  Savannah Marie Holland was born 27 July 2003 in Fort Lewis, Pierce County, Washington.  

2.  Patrick Raymond Holland was born 20 February 2008, at 12:10 p.m., in Statesboro, Georgia.  He is a namesake for his father, grandfather, and 2nd and 3rd great-grandfathers. 

4.  Willie Arthur Holland was born 9 July 1954.  He married Lana Marie Horton.

4.  Percell Holland was born 3 September 1924.  He married Nellie Pearl Hales on 12 October 1926, at the courthouse in Smithfield, Johnston County, North Carolina.  Nellie was born in Kenly, North Carolina, on 8 July 1928.  Percell Holland died 28 February 2002, and was buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery in Micro, Johnston County, North Carolina.¹²⁸

1.  Percell Holland, Jr. was born 28 September 1960 in Wilson, North Carolina.  He married Vicki Parker from the Archer Lodge community in Johnston County, North Carolina.  She was born 25 September 1958.  They were married in the Original Free Will Baptist Church in Micro, Johnston County, North Carolina, on 1 November 1980.

1. Labon Patrick Holland was born 11 September 1983, in Wilson, North Carolina.

2.  Justin Lee Holland was born 5 September 1986, in Wilson, North Carolina.  

6.  Anna Belle Holland was born 28 Jul 1896 in Fair Bluff, North Carolina.  She died 16 March 1930 at the age of 33 and was buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery in Johnston County, North Carolina.  She married Hubert A. Thompson.

7.  Walter Ivey Holland was born 6 December 1898 in Fair Bluff, North Carolina.  He died 6 May 1981 at age 82.  Walter was buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery in Johnston County, North Carolina.  He married Carolyn Bostic in Fair Bluff, North Carolina.  She was born 7 July 1906.  She died 23 September 1982 and was also buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery in Micro, Johnston County, North Carolina.   They did not have children. A picture of their graves is in the Album section of this web site.  

8.  Lillian Farabee Holland was born 14 November 1900.  She married first John Daniel Jones of Richmond, Virginia.  Lillian married second Clyde Broadwell on 15 September 1938.  Clyde Broadwell was born 28 February 1898 and died 8 February 1981 at age 82.  She and he are buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery at the end of Oak Grove Inn Road off of US301 in Micro, Johnston County, North Carolina. A picture of their graves is in the Album section of this web site.   
Child of Lillian Farabee Holland and John Daniel Jones:

1.  Jack Jones, Jr. was born 30 March 1933 on the Patrick Holland homeplace in Micro, Johnston County, North Carolina.  He married Betty Jean Watson of Kenly, Johnston County, North Carolina, in the 1930's.  He died 29 August 2000 and was buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery in Micro, Johnston County, North Carolina.^72 164  There is a picture of his grave in the Album section of this web site.

5.  Fairbee Lee (called Bee) Jones (twin to Rebecca Jean Jones) was born 10 September 1970.  She married Jimmy Christopher Mintz of Gaston County, North Carolina, on 18 September 1993.  They reside in Lowell, North Carolina.  There is a picture of their family in the Album Family Photos section of this web site.

1.  Christopher Avery Mintz was born in 10 September 1997.

9.  Paul Dewey Holland was born 28 September 1903.  He died 1 March 1987 at age 83 in Alabama.  He was buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery in Johnston County, North Carolina.  He married Marjorie Lane, who was born 17 February 1923.  She died 1 April 1989 at age 66 and was also buried in the Patrick Holland Cemetery in Johnston County, North Carolina, next to her husband.  A picture of their grave is in the Album section of this web site.
